Pet Card Drop vs. Pet Taming Success in e4

I'm quite new to the whole pet taming, card drop thing.

Getting card drops is hard work in e3 but I've heard that the drop rates for Commons (and the like) will go up

BUT

The success rate for taming will go DOWN.

I heard this from a friend, and I don't quite agree with it.

Rant // It doesn't make any sense? Why would Gala-Net want to screw us?! I mean, people spend weeks/months on getting commons - and that's just it, THEY'RE COMMONS!! And even if they do get it, the chance of failure is already high.

Someone clear this up for me please lol. So I can tell my friend to STFU. xD

Do I need to quote your own post, really? They are increasing the drop rates, so it (hopefully) won't mean weeks of farming anymore. Maybe even a drop a day if you farm.

As a breeder, I can tell you before I was almost really sure I wouldn't fail was at Taming lv10 +3

Before the taming rate was lower than 50%

Taming Lv10: 2nd Job (JLv40) which needs an enormous amount of JP's

Ryuubu is correct, commons will actually be COMMON. Therefore, not a very big deal. ^_^
